PAINTBRUSH

I'm walking into that old empty room.

I think someone just called my name.

We used to light a spark, and then just watch it bloom.

We loved to play this stupid game.

The table used to stand by the window.

The sun was shining through the glass.

Though it could be raining, the sun would always show.

We’d paint blue skies and green grass.

The world is getting bigger, but I’m still the same.

Or am I just getting smaller.

If I had some time to play that same old game

Maybe we'd still be here together

I wanna be the paintbrush.

I wanna be the colors.

I want to paint the whole world blue and green.

Don’t wanna be a wallflower.

Don’t wanna be away from you.

At least the painting stays the same.

New life,

new place,

new ways to spend our days.

The past is hazing, we’re always changing

New dreams to chase.

I’m walking out of that old empty room.

Cause no one really called my name.

The pencil marks she set on the doorframe every year are now gone.

It’s a different game

The world is getting bigger but I’m still the same

Or am I just getting smaller

A fresh coat of white covers old memories

on canvas we'll still be together

I wanna be the paintbrush.

I wanna be the colors.

I want to paint the whole world blue and green.

Don’t wanna be a wallflower.

Don’t wanna be away from you.

At least the painting stays the same.

I wanna be the paintbrush.

I wanna be the colors.

I want to paint the whole world blue and green.

Don’t wanna be a wallflower.

Don’t wanna be away from you.

At least the painting stays the same.

And I hope it stays with me!

Now that you’re free.

We’ll paint the whole world blue and green.

At least the painting stays the same.
